My memories of Carson Newman are not the greatest. From what I recall, I watched from my spot on the bench as our Maryville College Fighting Scots missed a last second shot to pull off the upset. On the other hand, I’m sure Sarah and Zack’s memories of their time at Carson Newman are quite a bit better. It was there that they met while Zack was playing linebacker for the Eagles, and it was there that they decided to have their wedding. We joined them there a few weeks back for their big day and the heavens promptly opened! However, everyone there was laid back about it and we waited around until the deluge stopped. Fortunately it didn’t last long and we were able to celebrate with them into the night. Congrats guys…I now have better memories of Carson Newman!
Ask any Memphian (or bar-b-que connoisseur for that matter) and they’ll tell you, a love story that involves Central Bar-B-Que is destined for great things. And so it was for Rachel and Jeremy; their first date was at Central and here we are celebrating their marriage. It was so great to hang out with this sweet couple for a day and get to know them better (we photographed Rachel’s sister’s wedding a few years back). In addition to a shared love of Central, Jeremy will be teaching in Memphis just as Jenn did several years ago.
The wedding venue could not have been more perfect…a farm that had been in the Turner family for several generations. We arrived on a gorgeous late-spring afternoon, and thankfully the rain held off just long enough. Thank you so much for asking Jenn and I to be a part of your big day; we had a blast!
This farm has been a part of the Turner family for generations.
Preparing the venue.
Rachel had personalized gifts for all of her bridesmaids.
The lovely bride.
If only this group knew how to let loose and have fun…
Rachel’s sister Kristen and her husband Houston. You’ll remember their wedding (here) from a few years back.
The handsome groom.
Jenn added some of our favorite things to do from our time in Memphis; can’t go wrong with Central BBQ!
Such a wonderful time of prayer from the bridal party before the wedding began.
The ceremony begins.
I love this privately shared moment during the ceremony.
Such exquisite cornhole form.
The first dance.
A tear in the father daughter dance. These are starting to get me every time!
And the party starts!
The sparkler sendoff…congrats guys!
What a great time this morning on Mornings with Fox 43, WBIR News Channel 10! I hope you were able to tune-in to my segment “Best Options for Photo Sharing.” What prompted me to address this topic was a recent tragedy that affected some dear friends. Not only did they lose their home (& all their possessions) in a fire, but they lost a child. I have no words to comfort their loss but have been deeply affected by their response & the hope they’ve found in treasuring Christ in the midst of suffering. About 3 weeks prior to the incident I had the privilege of photographing their family & little did I know how those photos would help minister to the family. Not only did it further value the power of photography but also reminded me of the importance & convenience of having an online space to share photos with your friends & family. Check out the graphic for my recommendations of the ‘Best Options for Sharing Photos.’ (And yes, I do realize that I left off Facebook. Of which, I think is a wonderful solution for sharing photos but the lack of control & security prompted me to omit it from the list). Click the image below to view the segment clip:

And a few quotes from some of my realtor friends:
“Really professional photography has been the single most successful tool for me to showcase luxury properties to local and out of area buyers.” -Lucas Haun of Knoxville Fine Homes
“In order to present their home in the best possible light, I believe it’s important for sellers to understand the value of having their home professionally photographed before it hits the market. Since most buyers begin their search online, a house may be skipped over for viewing based on bad photos or lack of photos online. Good first impressions are key.” -Paula Scarbrough, Century 21
