Meet Lauren Eggert / Our New Art Director!!!

LaurenEggertPromoPhotoforWeb

Hey all, this is Meg! When I sat down with Lauren Eggert on her recent visit to Finch Photo studio, I could tell this may take a while…She is so easy to talk to, our conversations could last for hours!

When you are not busy, what hobbies help you to relax?
 ”I love planning parties, and volunteering at my local animal shelter. My husband and I are die-hard roller coaster enthusiasts, so we  hit up the local theme parks. #nerdalert. We live in Orlando, which is home to a giant theme park nearby that we frequent often!”
What is your favorite food?
“I love Sushi…or anything that involves chocolate and peanut butter smooshed into one, but not sushi and peanut butter together!  Peanut butter in general- but it has to be crunchy!”

You do a lot of writing, what is one of your favorite quotes?
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow” “- Mary Anne  Radmacher

What inspires you about design?
“I love everything about design. I think it’s amazing how many different ways there are to put together the same puzzle. I can design something eight different ways, some will be better than others, but none will be “wrong”. I think that’s so neat. Also..fonts. I’m pretty much addicted to finding new fonts- and debating which of them are cooler, with Ben.”
 I shook my head in agreement, because I know Ben likes a good font!
Ok, so when you are having a night in, what movie is your “go to”?
 ”Oh jeez… just one!? Currently: Pitch Perfect is on repeat in my DVD player, but of all times I’d say the Usual Suspects.” As we rehearsed some lines from Pitch Perfect, ah that movie!
Why do you love the wedding industry so much?
“Oh MAN..so many reasons. I love watching the love of two people, and their families come together. The moments that happen on a couple’s wedding day are some of the few that will never be forgotten. I also love flowers- my grandmother was a florist, and I was raised in the middle of “her studio” learning all about wedding flowers- so that impacted me pretty heavily. Whenever I went to a wedding, she wanted to know details of every aspect of the day- so I was taught from a young age to pay attention to the details of a wedding.”

I have to ask, “why are you so awesome?”"
You can thank my parents for that, I guess. They’ve always been my biggest cheerleaders, and cultivated the  awesome-ness. I really lucked out in the family  department-I have three older brothers who taught me to not take myself too seriously.”

Since you enjoy volunteering at the animal shelter, I am assuming you have pets…how many?
“I have two rescue dogs- both Scottish terriers named Oliver who is 2,  and Mac’n'cheese, 8 (yes, that’s his full name- he goes by Mac). They keep us on our toes.”
How long have you been married? I am sure you had an amazing wedding, what was your favorite part of the big day?
“I’ve been married for a year and 5 months. We had a destination wedding in Savannah, GA- and loved every minute of the weekend…My FAVORITE part of the day- if i had to pick just one… was seeing Tim for the first time, at our first-look. It was such a special moment, and it was the first time i felt calm all day- just seeing him put me at ease. Second favorite was hearing “Mr. and Mrs. Tim Eggert” for the first time, that was pretty cool. Third, my father-daughter dance with my dad. We took dance lessons, (on my dad’s request!) and it was so sweet for us to get out there and sort of forget what we’d learned, but neither of us cared because we were having so much fun.”
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
“Ya know, I’m not a snob when it comes to traveling. I will pretty much go anywhere, anytime. I think I’d love to go (back) to Ireland. I only went to the west coast, so I’d love to go to the Dublin thing.”

Alright as we are finishing up our “Getting to Know Lauren” interview, is there anything else you would like Finch Photo followers to know about you…?
“If I were a crayon I’d be the color yellow.”
I laughed because that is totally suitable, Lauren is fun, energetic, happy and “sunny” so yellow is very suitable!
We look forward to working with her and what she can bring to the Finch Photo brand, she has years of experience in wedding publications and quite an impressive background.

Natalie Clayman Interior Design {Knoxville, TN}

There is so much I love about this little girl’s room I recently photographed for Knoxville Designer, Natalie Clayman of Natalie Clayman Interior Design. Natalie was hired to transform the below room into a space worthy of any girl’s fairy tale dream. She nailed it!!! As with every room I photograph of Natalie’s, I get a glimpse into her mind, her art, her style. As a result, I walk away inspired & with a renewed imagination for what is possible in design. It’s a beautiful thing to work with people so tremendously talented in their field. Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot; I know you’ll love it too!

Natalie Clayman Interior Design {Knoxville, TN}

When you walk into the home of Natalie Clayman of Natalie Clayman Interior Design of Knoxville, TN, you are immediately smitten by her bold colors & fresh design. Her style is unique. And that, I love. When I see someone truly gifted in their profession, it is exciting. It gets my creative juices flowing & I walk away inspired. It’s as though they were born for something… born to contribute their talents to others. I feel this way about Natalie & her ability to design.

I had the pleasure of photographing two rooms in Natalie’s Knoxville home several weeks ago, her daughters’ bedroom as well as their bathroom. We’ve been waiting to blog these images because she was in the process of launching her new website at natalieclayman.com. However, the site is now live & it looks fantastic. Here are a few of my favorites from Natalie’s home & I can’t wait to show you another feature coming up in the next week or two that I had the pleasure to photograph for Natalie. Enjoy!

The Prissy Closet {Editorial Photography & Website Design}

It’s a relationship that we can’t imagine living without. Located in historic downtown Athens, TN, is a Women’s Boutique Store, The Prissy Closet. We are a bit partial to these ladies as it just so happens that our studio is located directly above their store (I sometimes refer to our studio loft area above as The Sassy Attic… ha!) Not only do we feel like we are in one of the nicest buildings in the area with a fantastic location, but we also highly value what has become a wonderful relationship with our neighbors downstairs.

Carolyn & Missy Ford are the owners of The Prissy Closet. This mother-in-law, daughter-in-law duo has been setting trends for over 20 years at The Prissy Closet. In fact, Southern Living Magazine describes it as “the place to fulfill all your girly needs.”

When we moved into the new studio it seemed like a perfect fit. Carolyn & Missy had previously inquired about me designing & developing a new website for them. Plus, they were eager to have photographs of the store to be used for the site as well as in advertising & promotional efforts. I was more than pleased to help. Here’s their new website that launched this week! After much deliberation we all agreed that a simple site that showcased their beautiful fashion items was the perfect fit. What do you think? Click here to visit the site.

And here are few photos of the store. Alright ladies… come visit!

And a few pics we photographed for Missy’s Fashion Column in McMinn Life Magazine. The beautiful Lindsay Richardson was our model!

Todd Richesin {Editorial | Knoxville, TN}

He’s made a name for himself on both a local & national scene with features in Southern Living, Traditional HomeHouse Beautiful & At Home TN. And in 2010 he was chosen to decorate the White House for Christmas. Of course, I’m speaking of Knoxville designer, Todd Richesin. Todd has not only become a wonderful client but also a friend.

Todd recently wanted to schedule a shoot for upcoming promotional & editorial features. We had such a great time at his home, featured here for At Home TN Magazine, & at his new studio & retail space, Upstairs & Todd Richesin Interiorsfeatured on my blog for it’s Grand Opening. The images turned out fantastic & I was quite eager to share! I know which ones are my favorites… what about you?

These first three are my favorites, for sure!
