I heard a friend say the other day, “I eat merely for sustenance, not because I really enjoy it.” A gush of sympathy mixed with confusion rushed over me as I tried to process his claim. I thought to myself, “Blasphemy!!!” There are few things in life I enjoy more than eating good food with good friends. Eating is one of the great joys in my life, and as a result, I have to show a bit of self-control when I find myself at a place like Central Flats and Taps in Knoxville, TN. And btw, they’re not paying me to say that.
Just last week I was at Central Flats and Taps to photograph their amazing menu. When they brought out the food & after having photographed the entrees, we sat down to enjoy their wonderful flatbread pizzas & salads. It was perfect. It’s the kind of place you want to take your spouse if you’re looking for a more relaxed, casual date night or when you want a night out with the guys or the ladies with their friends. It possesses such a fun, laid back feel. If you’re visiting, here’s the address: 1204 N Central St. Knoxville, TN 37917
And if you’re a beer lover, check out the review below:
Matt Ward of Knoxville.com shared about his experience, “I ponied up to the bar and my gaze fell on a welcome sign for a beer lover, 20 taps of beer. After a lengthy survey of the selection, I came to a pleasing conclusion that our region holds its own when it comes to great beer. From Georgia’s Sweetwater Brewery to Asheville’s Highland Brewery to Atlanta’s Laughing Skull to Knoxville’s own Marble City Brewery, there are some great brews in the Southeast. Each of these mentioned had an offering or two ready to be poured by the pint for thirsty bar-goers.”
Here are a few snapshots from the afternoon at Central.
